History

Frederick O. Pringle, [ca. 1885-after 1950], came from Iowa, USA to Alberta in 1909, and homesteaded 2 km east of Veteran. In 1912 he married Ida Maria Bower, 1882-1950, who was originally from Reslessy, Ontario. They had three children, Isobel, Ray and George. Besides running the farm, Fred opened the first barbershop in Veteran in 1913. The Pringles moved into Veteran ca. 1947.
