Biographical history

Richard Henry Trueman, 1856?-1911, was a professional photographer based at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada between 1889 and 1911. Trueman worked with partner Norman Caple, and later alone, along the line of the Canadian Pacific Railway between Winnipeg and the Pacific Coast, specializing in mountain and railway views, ranching, Indians and portraiture.

Custodial history

Ten prints and all negatives were originally part of R. H. Trueman holdings of the City of Vancouver Archives and the Vancouver Public Library

Scope and content

Fonds consists of landscape views along the Canadian Pacific Railway, between Banff, Alberta and Glacier, British Columbia; includes Banff scenes.
