Biographical history

Raoul Green, 1874-1967, was born in Lachine, Quebec. He moved to Blairmore, Alberta in 1901 where he prospected and helped develop some of the coal mines. A mining engineer, he was employed by West Canadian Collieries ca. 1906, and rose to the position of superintendent before retiring in 1945. He and his wife, Henriette, ?-1950, had no children. The fonds consists of microfilm of a letter book kept as WCC employee (1906-1913); photocopies of correspondence and reports related to WCC job (1931-1935); photocopy of work journal (1915-1923); photocopies of correspondence about history of Crowsnest coal mines (1947-1950), and photographs of the Greens.
