Dr. Ray Roper Hicks was in Atlin, B.C. from March to August 1899. He worked on a gold claim for two months and did the occasional doctoring. He returned south as the tide of gold-seekers to Atlin began to ebb.

Scope and content
The fonds consists of a copy of Dr. Ray Roper Hicks' handwritten diary kept during his time in and around Atlin, B.C. from March to August 1899. Once there, Dr. Hicks spent most of his time frequently visiting Pine, Spruce, and Willow creeks. Place names mentioned en route to Atlin include the Tepe River, Otter Lake, Golden Gate, and Taku Arm.
