Agnes Elizabeth Dick, 1904-1992, was born in Listowel, Ontario. She moved to Red Deer, Alberta in 1922, where she worked as a department store clerk before her marriage in 1931 to James L. Richards, a farmer in the Horn Hill district near Red Deer. They retired to Red Deer in 1972. Agnes was active in the Clearview Women's Institute and the Rebekahs, and was a volunteer for the Red Deer and District Archives. She was an energetic amateur historian and collector of historical documentation. Agnes and James had three children, Bill, Kay (Johanson), and Anne (Kern)
