John Salisbury "Jack" Robson, ?-1937, came to Alberta from England in the early 1890s. He and his friend, George Alexander Bowers, served in the South African War (1900-1901) as members of Strathcona's Horse. Jack built one of the earliest guiding and outfitting businesses in Banff and was part of one of the expeditions of Professor J. Norman Collie. In 1913 he moved to Jasper as a park warden and later worked for Canadian National Railways. He married Mary Bowers, and they had four children, Leonard Bowers, Muriel, Joan and Edith Margaret, 1903-?. Leonard, 1904-1967, was born in Banff and lived in Jasper after 1916. He was a mason and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers during the Second World War. He was employed by the CNR as an electrician.

Scope and content
The fonds consists of photographs of Collie expeditions to the Rockies (1902); and photographs of Jasper Park, sporting events and personalities in Jasper Park, and family views (1916-1931). Also consists of George's South African war diary (1900-1901) and some military and personal papers of Jack and Leonard.
