Administrative history
The Rocky Mountain Singers, a gay and lesbian choral group, was founded in Calgary in 1989 by Luke Shwart and others. The group sang for pleasure, performed concerts in local venues, and participated in choral festivals in other places.
Custodial history
Scope and content
The fonds consists of Luke Shwart's letter to a friend about creating the choir, member handbooks, concert programs (including Christmas concerts), membership lists, and other records of the choir's activities. Includes music commissioned specifically for the Rocky Mountain Singers, and a small amount of material about gay and lesbian singing groups elsewhere in Canada.
