Biographical history

Ross Houghtaling was born in the United States, but probably took Canadian citizenship. He had a brother Rex, and a friend, John Peck who became like a member of the family. In 1992, when he donated to Yukon Archives he was living in Wawata, Saskatchewan.

Custodial history

The photographs were given to Ross Houghtaling by John Peck. He then donated them to the Yukon Archives via Dale Schmekel.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of photographs taken by Rex Hougtaling and John Peck showing scenes of army life on the American base, and scenes of the Mackenzie River, Norman Wells, Canol Road, the Imperial Oil plant.
