Biographical history

Thomas Henry Hannah, 1879-1973, was born in Owen Sound, Ontario and moved with his family to Hanna, Alberta in 1910. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1916 and served with the 175th Battalion during the First World War. He married Alice Austin in England and returned to Hanna where their son Harry, 1919- , was born. In 1920 they bought land near Garden Plain from the Soldier Settlement Board but moved to British Columbia in 1926. A couple of years later the family returned to Hanna where they remained.

The fonds consists of Thomas' Canadian army paybook. Includes page with casualty lists; hints re sightseeing in London; and a poem entitled "The Influenza Mask" (1918).
