Biographical history

Tom Kirkham, 1913-1986, was a long-time City of Calgary employee who, after his retirement, was provided funds by the Alberta Historical Resources Foundation to interview significant individuals in southern Alberta. He had previously carried out similar work for the Provincial Archives of Alberta. Interview topics included the history of Lethbridge, Crowsnest Pass, Canmore, Drumheller and Hanna; and municipal administration and small businesses in southern Alberta. Most interviews were with Calgary and Lethbridge personalities, but he also interviewed at least one person from each of these towns: Bassano, Bellevue, Blairmore, Bow Island, Brooks, Canmore, Cardston, Carstairs, Claresholm, Coaldale, Cochrane, Coleman, Crossfield, Didsbury, Drumheller, Foremost, Hanna, High River, Innisfail, Manyberries, Nanton, Nobleford, Okotoks, Olds, Sundre, and Waterton Park.
