History
Local No. 20 of Alberta Farmers' Co-operative Elevator Co. Ltd. was established at Cayley, Alberta in 1914, when the Co-operative built a grain elevator there. In 1917 the Co-operative merged with the Grain Growers' Grain Company to form United Grain Growers Ltd. (UGG), and the local retained its original number. In 1932 a second elevator was built by UGG, and in 1940-1941 two annexes were added. The elevators were demolished in the 1990s in anticipation of the closure of rail service to Cayley in 1999.
