The University of Alberta Archives has periodically donated material with direct relevance to Edmonton's history to the City of Edmonton Archives.

Holdings consist of the permanently valuable records of the University of Alberta and its affiliated organizations and institutions including the administrative and operational records of the offices of the Presidents and the Vice-Presidents, the faculties and departments, and support units, the records of teaching, research and administrative staff and organizations which have made a significant contribution to the University, the records of individuals and organizations prominent in such fields as oil sands research, Canadian publishing, irrigation, land settlement, the fur trade and the North, medicine, and the literary arts. The holdings consist of textual documents, photographs, audio and video tapes, blueprints and posters.
The University of Alberta Archives is now open to researchers by appointment only. Staff continue to work remotely on days when the Archives is closed. Contact us at archives@ualberta.ca to make an appointment or if you have questions about materials housed at the Archives.
