Vivian Kohar moved to Jasper in 1945 with her daughter Gail (1944). In 1946 she married George Kohar. Greg and Glen (1951) were born in Jasper and attended school in Jasper with their sister Gail. In 1977 they moved to Kamloops. Vivian was involved with the Jasper Winter Carnival, Swim club, Founders Day Concerts and had a very special interest in the Jasper Story, a musical performed at the Palisades 1956-1960, and then performed again at the Crater Theatre opposite the Whistler Camp Ground ( 1976-1981).

Jasper Story was an outdoor musical production held in mid-July, 1978-1980 at the Crater Theatre across the road from the Whistler campground. The production told the story of the Overlanders seeking their way to the Caribou gold fields.

Custodial history

Greg Kohar donated these records of the Jasper Story after the death of his mother Vivian Kohar.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of documents relating to the musical drama "The Jasper Story". Including: a script of the Jasper Story, advertising boards with photographs, and a scrapbook filled with programs and newspaper articles about the play.This fonds also consists of travel brochures from Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Railways.
