Biographical history
English scholar, 1875-1959. Sir Walter was a British medieval scholar, textual critic and editor of international stature. His professional friendship with Dr. F.M. Salter of the Department of English, led a friend, Professor F.P. Wilson, to present this manuscript to the University in memory of two outstanding scholars.

Fonds consists of this item: "Christ among the Doctors", manuscript (1912). Spine title: "Christ and the Doctors". Parallel comparison of four medieval mystery plays on this theme. Presented as a memorial of the scholarly association of Professors Greg and Francis Millet Salter by F.P. Wilson, with a covering letter to Mrs. Salter and a memoir of Sir Walter. A description of the manuscript by Dr. H.A. Hargreaves (New Trail, 33:4:10, Fall 1978) is included in the file.
