História administrativa

SAIT Polytechnic:;SAIT Polytechnic began operations in Calgary, Alberta in 1916 as Canada's first publically-funded technical school, the Provincial Institute of Technology and Art. Throughout the next century, the institute would experience continual growth and undergo numerous changes in facilities and internal structure, as well as in population size and programming scope. Along with these changes, the institute would be renamed in 1960 to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, and again in 2004 to SAIT Polytechnic. In 1985, the institute would also see the former Art Department be granted autonomy from the institute, giving rise to the Alberta College of Art.
Ron Burton: Beginning at SAIT in the early 1970s, photographer Ron Burton was a member of the SAIT staff until 1992. Throughout his nearly 20 years of service to the institute, Ron Burton was involved in numerous projects, including the production of many of the photographs included in this collection.
George Webber: Hired as a photographer in 1980 for the Department of Educational Services, George Webber was involved in many roles at SAIT between the years of 1980 and 2002. In addition to acting as a department supervisor, instructor, and project coordinator, George Webber's primary role was the creation of an extensive library of images for use by the institute in instructional and marketing purposes. Responsible for creating the bulk of the images stored in the SAIT Archives, George Webber is also responsible for creating various works seen in collections of the Art Gallery of Alberta, the Glenbow Museum, as well as the National Archives of Canada.
