Biographical history
Wilbur W. Powe was born in Saskatchewan and moved to Edmonton in 1919. He married Lillian Barr of Blythe, Ontario. Wilbur and Lillian had one adopted son, Bruce, who was born in 1925. Wilbur worked as an accountant at North West Milling Co. in Edmonton until his retirement in 1949. He was also an amateur photographer. Wilbur died in 1960 and Lillian died in 1973.

This material was deposited directly in the Provincial Archives of Alberta by Bruce Allan Powe, son of Wilbur W. Powe.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of 67 photographs of Alberta towns (1920s),Buffalo National Park at Wainwright and Banff National Park(1920s) and Edmonton photos (1921-1946) taken by Wilbur W.Powe. Also included are photographs of Athabasca River Boat scenes (1924-1925) taken by Russ Denholm (cousin of Lillian. Also included are a photograph and booklet of the Edmonton Commercial Grads Basketball team (1940).
