Administrative history
United Farm Women of Alberta was an autonomous organization affiliated with the United Farmers of Alberta. Its Local No. 33 was chartered in High River in 1916. Its earliest activities included establishment of a rest room (drop-in centre) for rural women visiting the town; and a public library. In 1949 the United Farmers of Alberta merged with the Alberta Farmers' Union to form the Farmers' Union of Alberta, and the women's organization became the Farm Women's Union of Alberta. In 1970 the Farmers' Union of Alberta merged with the Alberta Federation of Agriculture to form Unifarm, and the women's organization became Women of Unifarm. The organization apparently ceased to exist by 1996, when Unifarm reorganized and changed its name to Wild Rose Agricultural Producers.
