History

The Yukon Orienteering Association was spearheaded by Suat Tuzlak and Afan Jones in the mid-1980s. The first activities included a colour map of the Mount McIntyre ski trails and its first meet, the ski-O on January 6, 1985. The Association holds weekly meets, annual championships and produces orienteering and recreation maps. Function: The Yukon Orienteering Association provides friendly and quality competitive orienteering opportunities in Yukon, and encourages the development and growth of the sport of orienteering where possible.
