No information available. Function: The Yukon Teachers' Association was formed in October 1955. Its purpose has been to serve "as guardian of teachers' rights and welfare, while attempting to maintain a position of dignity and respect in the community and leadership in educational matters." In 1960, the association was granted the right to bargain for teachers with the Yukon government. A brief history of the association is included in the Yukon Teachers' Association Members' Handbook, in the Yukon Archives library.

The fonds consists of minutes, correspondence, committee reports, negotiation files, financial records, photographs and information relating to conferences, institutes and in-service training sponsored by the Yukon Teachers' Association. The textual records document the association's activities, mainly from the late 1960s to the mid-1970s. The photographs show association members, schools, teacherages, contract signings and presentations.
