Administrative history
Named after a village in Halchyna, Ukraine, Zawale School District No. 1074 was established in 1904 at Section 33, Township 55, Range 17, West of the 4th Meridian (33-55-17-W4). The School closed in 1950 and the children bussed to Andrew to attend school.
Custodial history
In 1981, Herman Hennig donated the material to the Provincial Archives of Alberta. Herman Hennig's relationship to the school district is unknown.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of minutes, correspondence, annual reports, school inspector's reports, student birthdates and distances from school, assessment of tax rolls, and cash books of Zawale School District No. 1074 dating from 1905 - 1951
